Not only is Bubblegum Bob recognized for distributing hundreds of thousands of pieces of delicious Dubble Bubble throughout the years, he also served as a Rascals host family for almost all of the previous nineteen years with his wife, Judy Griffith. Over the years, they also introduced their daughter and son-in-law to the fold, the latter of which served as the Rascals mascot Ruffy for a long stretch. Players and coaches from the past 20 years all have individual stories about their experiences with Bob and all will espouse to his willingness to go above and beyond to put a smile on their faces.
"Bubblegum Bob and Judy welcomed me into their home when I first got to River City and have always been kind and respectful to our staff and players," said Rascals President Dan Dial. "Over 20 years, Bob has built up quite a reputation among former players and thousands of fans and we felt like he was the perfect representation of what our twentieth anniversary season is all about. Rascals baseball means entertainment and fun for the whole family."
