Be one of Ruffys book buddies! 


The River City Rascals welcome Ruffy’s Book Buddies Reading Program back for its second season!  Below you will find a brief description of the Reading Program as well as the benefits for the students and educators.  We hope that you take the time to look over the information and consider joining the Reading Program team during the Dog Days of Summer in the 2008 season!  If you have any questions, please contact Pam Malliet at pmalliet@rivercityrascals.com. Thank you and we anticipate a successful year with Ruffy’s Book Buddies Program.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

  • Incentive Based- Students are rewarded for reaching their reading goals, with the opportunity to attend a professional baseball game with friends and family.
  • Requirements- Each participant must read a minimum of four (4) books to qualify for the free ticket to a professional baseball game.
  • Learning is Fun- Students link reading and baseball to discover the joy of reading!
  • Who Let the Dogs Out- Schools will have the option of booking a free Ruffy appearance for either the start or completion of the program.

STUDENT BENEFITS

  • Educational- Students are motivated to read and learn to read for their own enjoyment.
  • Run the Bases- All students will be invited onto the field after the game to run the bases.
  • Family Fun- Students who earn vouchers can use them to treat friends and family to any Tuesday game.
