Matt is in his fifth season in Professional Baseball and the 2008 season will be his second with the River City Rascals as the Director of Stadium Operations and Events. During the 2007 season, among other things, he coordinated the Game Day staff, supervised all maintenance and cleaning aspects of the ballpark, and also scheduled and executed extra events held at TR Hughes Ballpark including numerous High School games and the Guinness World Record Game held in October of 2007. Matt is a 2007 graduate of the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance. While a student at the U of I, Matt worked as a Student Assistant for the Women’s Basketball Team for three years helping with video editing, team practices, marketing campaigns, summer camps, and team travel. Born and raised in Plainfield, IL, he now resides in St. Charles, MO. Matt got his start in professional baseball by hawking programs for a season for the Joliet Jackhammers of the Independent Northern League. He then worked as the Assistant Director of Stadium Operations for the Jackhammers, supervising the Game Day staff, maintaining the stadium, and concentrating on customer service for two seasons before taking his position with the Rascals. Besides being a Rascals fan, Matt is an avid NL Central Division Champion Chicago Cubs fan, excited about Illinois Fighting Illini football and the quest for another Rose Bowl berth, and ready for the Illini basketball program to continue its dominance of Mizzou in 2008. |
